Servant of the Lake is the new premium point-and-click adventure in the Rusty Lake series from the creators of the Cube Escape series, The Past Within and Underground Blossom.
Features:
- Going back to our Roots - Servant of the Lake is a classic single-player Rusty Lake point-and-click adventure set in the infamous Vanderboom house during the era of Aldous and William Vanderboom.
- Solve surreal puzzles – Expect to go from simple tasks such as straightening the family portraits and doing the laundry to assisting in complex experiments and cleaning up the aftermath.
- Unravel a dark narrative – Live through events set decades before Rusty Lake: Roots! As the servant of the Vanderboom estate, you can explore each room of The House while making sure the family is looked after. Do you think you can survive the weekend?
- Immersive soundtrack - Haunting melodies composed and performed by Victor Butzelaar to keep you company while puzzling your way through your daily, usual and unusual tasks.
A 15–30 minute demo is now available to download for Windows and Mac (links below). The full premium experience is scheduled to launch in Spring 2026.

Love a good point and click game. Would love to learn more about the family! Looks simple in terms of art, but I don't mind. Also love the sort of depressing atmosphere of the game. Nice and simple.

Looks very interesting, but the installer looks for space forever. Couldn´t install it.

Absolutely love puzzle games like this and it gives me weird vibes (in a good way). Makes me wanna figure out what's going on in the Vanderboom house.

I'll play this demo shortly. But first, some exercise!
I can't get into the house, is there something I need to trigger/do?
what do you have in your inventory? If its a metal pipe then use it to get to the key from the left side of the house (its beneath the wooden floor)
Just the carrot, and a tin cup i found in the carriage. I'm at the beginning of the game and clicked on everything interactable. How do I find this metal pipe?
keep in mind that if you're stuck, chances are you haven't actually found everything interactable. have you checked the windows? both? what about the rest of the carriage?
I checked both windows and the carriage too. I've clicked on the door and that garden box too
is the tin cup still in your inventory? if so, have you found anything that looks similar to it? have you tried talking to the carriage driver?
